Software Operation

After an individual fills out the questionnaire form their numbers need to be typed into the software. Here a screenshot of the software:

Fill in the numbers in the appropriate fields according to the data on the questionnaire.

Navigation

To advance to the next field you can use the Enter or Tab key. To navigate between the buttons the following rule applies. The tab key advances to the next button, shift tab will go to the previous button, and the enter key will activate it. Once you get used to it, using the keyboard for the entire software operation will help you speed up the data input.

Input Fields

Sex: Enter here "M" for male or "F" for female. In every translation there are appropriate key codes defined that can be used optionally. You can use also 1 for male and 2 for female.

For height and weight you can define in the settings whether to use metric or US measurement systems. For the US system be sure to enter the height in inches.

The body fat field can be switched off in the settings, in case you don't have a body fat scale or other measuring device. The software will calculate then the excess weight based on the body mass index, that is calculated depending on height and weight. Even when not disabled in the settings, you can keep the body fat field empty. If you enter only weight and body fat, leaving the height field empty, the excess weight is calculated based on the body fat percentage. When entering both fields, the software calculates an average between the two, which is recommended in most cases.

The software makes also a plausibility check to find out whether height and weight are corresponding with the body fat reading. If the results are very different, you will get the error message: "Body fat reading does not correspond with weight and height." In this case, check if the body fat reading is accurate. Should there be no change in a second body fat reading, leave it out and enter height and weight only.

All the other fields you enter according to the number of the box in the questionnaire. There is a little number besides each box that helps you to find the appropriate number.

Buttons

The button functions are the following:

Print: This button will display the activated print language, and a second language can be activated in the Settings. Pressing this button will calculate the results and print them on the preprinted Result Form. The results are shown on screen as well for your information. If something goes wrong during printing, you can do multiple copies until you press the clear button.

Clear: This button will clear the input of the previous person to start with the next.

Compute Onscreen: Press this button if you want the results shown on screen only without printing them.
