Health Expo, in an attempt to impact as many communities as possible, has designed a training seminar for health professionals. One training seminar, held at a Bogenhofen, Austria college campus, was attended by approximately 30 health educators from around the country. During the seminar, they not only learned about the Health Expo concept, but also gained first-hand experience in how an Expo works.
There were presentations from people sharing their experiences at past Health Expos, as well as instruction on the step-by step process of Expo organization. The training seminar culminated with the attending health professionals conducting their own two-hour Health Expo for the public right on the premises.
The question we all had would be whether or not a Health Expo could generate any interest in a Western European country where people are reasonably well-informed about general health issues and have easy access to health testing.
We had our answer when the hall began to fill ten minutes before our Expo even opened, and the tremendous demand required an extra hour for testing. The success of our "mini-Expo" was so great, in fact, that many of the training seminars participants went home to organize Expos in their own communities!
